{Music Monday} Color…

It’s going to be a busy week with (hopefully) a lot of color. This stop motion, colored pencil video fits my mood today. Happy Music Monday! Now I’m off to the studio…

{stop motion} animation in white…

It snowed today here in the northwest and it’s very cold and white. It’s a perfect sort of night to curl up with some hot chocolate and catch up with some of my favorite blogs. When visiting Paper Forest, I found this beautiful stop motion video from french animation artists Camille Baladi & Arnaud Roi. You know how I love stop motion & paper cut art – so I was excited to have stumbled on this video. It’s so cool… and very white. Quite fitting for a day like today, don’t you think?

Dot…

I’m a huge fan of anything from Aardman Animations (creators of Wallace & Gromit) and  I was really excited when I spotted their new project Dot, on one of my favorite blogs, Kickcan & Konkers. This features the world’s smallest stop-motion animation character- shot on a Nokia N8 camera phone that’s fitted with a CellScope. The art piece used in the film is also called Dot, and was made by Will Studd an Ed Patterson, of Sumo Science, for Aardmann.

As always, I am just as interested in how these wonderful little short features are made and I loved watching  this “making of” video too. -Simply amazing. Hope you enjoyed it!

*I also wanted to say how touched I am at all of the sweet & supportive comments that were left on yesterdays post. Thank you!

{Everyday Inspiration} Stop Motion Awe…

Her Morning Elegance music video by Oren Lavie, has been circulating on the web for over a year now. I remember posting it on my FB page when I first saw it because I liked it so much. I find that I keep coming back to it for one reason or another. I dove in a little bit to learn more about how it was made and was surprised to learn that there is a Her Morning Elegance Etsy Shop. The still photos by Eyal Landesman that were used in the video can be purchased. The 2096 photos that made up the stop motion video have been broken back down to still form and have been exhibited in galleries worldwide. {Image via here}

I’m so intrigued by the stop motion process and completely in awe of the work that goes into a video like this. This video fit my mood today- it’s calming and inspiring all at once. Hope you enjoy it too. Now I am ready to go to the studio…
