I’ve said it before, but I’ll keep on sayin’ it – I love sending Courtney extra klt:works prints for courtneycourtney! Her designs are so vibrant & fun, you can’t help but smile when you see them, particularly when you see her adorable customers wearing her creations (like sweet Pip above)! I was lucky enough to be a customer this year too! Courtney made Sayer a birthday tee with his favorite klt:owl tee that he had outgrown.

So, I’m happy to announce that tomorrow is klt:works Tuesday at courtneycourtney! She has been busy working on 10 new dresses with klt:works prints that will be on sale tomorrow. Let’s take a closer look at a few of my favorites…

{Inspiration} Collaborations…

It seems like at the first of the year I always go on major research tangents. I’m a sponge that soaks up inspiration & information as if to store it for the rest of the year. I love discovering how things connect. My brain is on overload with facts & inspiration flitter fluttering around in my brain. This week it all started with researching Maurice Sendak & watching the documentary, Tell Them Anything You Want: A Portrait directed by Spike Jonze (who directed the movie Where The Wild Things Are). I find Spike Jonze brilliant & adore Maurice Sendak. I was happy to find this photo of Maurice Sendak, taken by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity fair this last August. Being that I love photography, her photographs are always a pleasure to discover.

Then my memory was jogged that Spike Jonze directed this awesome video that features Christopher Walken that makes me grin ear to ear. Christopher Walken has always intrigued me & I’m a sucker for a good dance sequence. So there you have it, four inspiring people & some very cool collaborations. You’ve heard me say it before, but I will say it again- I love sending Courtney (courtneycourtney) my prints. The last batch I sent her, I snuck in an extra special tee. I wanted to have a courtneycourtney tee made for Sayer’s 4th birthday & I included his favorite owl tee that he had outgrown. Courtney worked her magic & made the coolest tee ever! Sayer just loves it. His birthday was on Wednesday & he has worn it everyday since! It has been in the wash a number of times already & has even survived a big glop of blue frosting on the front.

This is what a happy courtneycourtney customer looks like in case you wondered (& a brand new 4 year old). Her tees & dresses inspire dancing & fits of giggles.

Lovely – I’m a fan of Mini Moderns as well so I was thrilled to see this. I recently saw a great post about Mini Moderns on Bright Bazaar too that you might want to check out. I love what I do- plain & simple. I have met the most interesting & talented people through klt:works. Case in point, look at these wonderful photos by Bellini Portraits! Kristin Fluhr, the Boston based clothing designer & creator of The Measure, contacted me a little while ago about an idea that she had. Well, I love the opportunity to collaborate with like minded artists & designers (particularly ones with great names like Kristin) so I jumped. Kristin’s Twelfth Night Collection for The Measure was just photographed by Bellini Portraits and will be available for purchase next Tuesday. I’m so thrilled have my tees be a part of these awesome outfits! They will also be available for purchase as part of the whole ensemble. This little model is just adorable too- can you imagine she & Sayer playing in their Squirrel & Kitty tees together? This is just a taste of the Twelfth Night Collection. {Everyday Inspiration} Converse + Marimekko…

When I first read about this awesome collaboration in December, I was really excited to see what the finished product would look like. Well wait no further – the Converse/Marimekko shoes were just unveiled yesterday along with this great little mini documentary. They can be found at converse.com – all the styles range from $75-$85 US (& those cool shoe bags come with the sneakers). I really don’t need to tell you how much I love these do I? What do you think? Do you have a favorite? I think I have it narrowed down between two…. stay tuned.
