{Fabric Friday} fabric smiles…

Do you remember Kari, the winner of the Creative Bundle Contest? Well, she’s been busy creatively making smiles on her son’s face lately with a new fabric creation that  I just had to share! She made this soft flip book for her son, Max, for Easter. Each face represents someone in their family! I was so tickled when I saw her blog post about it yesterday.

She even used some of her prize klt:fabric bundles for this project. Isn’t this the greatest photo? I love how he’s so into his family of faces. He also looks adorable in his new squirrel tee! Kari, Max is one lucky kid! Thanks for sharing your cool project!! Happy Fabric Friday everyone! Do you have any fun projects lined up for the weekend?

{Creative Bundle Competition} & the winner is…

This competition wasn’t as simple as guessing the right number of jellybeans- this was a creative nail biter! It was head to head between Heather, Dawn & Kari for days- then at the last minute, the top entries were separated by just one vote each. The interest, participation, & creations by all were just fantastic! Thanks for making this so fun everyone! So without further adieu…
the winner is Kari & her lovely pillows & plush bear!  Congratulations Kari!!

A very close second place goes to Dawn & her sweet bunny & very close third place goes to Heather & her wonderful doll clothes!  It was truly a joy to see what you ladies created! Let’s give a big round of *applause* to all 5 entries! You really inspire so many people. Thanks again to all of you that voted as well. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!

{Fabric Friday} last 3 creative competition entries…

Ok fabric enthusiasts, it’s another chance to be wowed by people’s creativity. Here are the last 3 entries in 5 Bundle Creative Competition. It’s been so cool to see that the creations are as unique as the places that they came from. It’s all about the lime, blue, & pink stacks today…
The lime stack of fabric was shipped to Dawn (pop-i-cok). How cheerful & charming is this little bunny? I love the stitched details throughout & cool play with pattern. I’m sure this fellow will make some kiddo thrilled. Nice work Dawn!
Heather jumped out of her comfort zone with her fabric of blues. I love her attitude & her lovely, modern twist on the “stained glass applique” method of quilting. You can just sense her enthusiasm from looking at her piece. Great job to you too Heather!
The pink stack of fabric went to Amy who embraced this challenge by not only creating a beautiful gift set of stationary, but also created a new crafting space in her house to work on this project. Her love of handwritten letters inspired this creation along with the special & creative ladies in her life. Certainly a letter on one of these cards would be cherished.  Well done Amy!

See what I mean? These are three very different, but equally special treasures don’t you think? If you missed the first 2 wonderful entries, go check them out here. Again, I have to say- I’m so impressed. Everyone was so excited & gracious about being included in this challenge. I really appreciate the effort everyone put forth. I know time isn’t easy to find. Be sure to come back on Fabric Friday for the voting. You get to decide who wins another fabric stash & a $20 klt:works gift card. What would you do if a stash of fabric was given to you?

{Fabric Friday} first 2 creative competition entries…

Oh wow, do I have a treat for you fabric lovers today! It’s finally time to share the first 2  entries of the 5 Bundle Creative Competition. I ended up realizing (for a number of reasons) that it would be best to separate the posts. So, I will post the the next 3 entries on Tuesday (the lime green, robin’s egg blue, & pinks stacks). You will have a chance to see all 5 next Friday for the final judging.  For those that are new to the blog, let me quickly catch you up. In an attempt to “destash” my studio, I held a contest to receive 5 bundles of fabric that I put together with the instructions to make something with the fabric & then send me pictures of the finished product on the 31st of March. I have to say, this has been so fun! I love the enthusiasm, excitement, & genuine interest that has been shown – not to mention the variety of creative vision. All five bundle winners really put forth so much thought & effort. I’m so impressed! I actually ended up  changing up the fabric in each bundle a bit, once I learned what their favorite colors were- which you may notice.  The first 2 bundle winners received the green/turquoise stack & the orange stack of fabric.  These were the first chosen initially & I liked how the stacks worked together – so it seemed fitting to have them in the first post together.

This first stack of green & turquoise fabric went to Heather {ringmaster}. Heather has a fondness for Blythe dolls & has created her own version of a Project Runway finale for you. She has recently rediscovered her love of making doll clothes and from the looks of things, seems to have found her calling. Tim Gunn needs to see all of this because you really made it work Heather. Nice job!
Kari was sent the stack of orange fabrics. As you see, she made two beautiful pillows – one patchwork & one yo-yo, for her new sofa. The soft velveteen was used for a spunky, tie wearing bear for her 1 year old, Max. Kari seems to have an eye for home decor. These look like they could be seen at Anthropology, don’t you think? Nice job to you too Kari!

Didn’t these gals do a fantastic job with their fabric bundles? Check back on Tuesday for 3 more wonderful creations. Next Friday you will have a chance to see all 5 together  &  be asked to vote for your favorite finished product. The winner will receive more fabric & a $20 klt:works gift card!  So be sure to come back.
