I remember the Christmas that I got my Snoopy- I believe my brother & I got a synthesizer to share that year too- yep it was the ’70’s. Snoopy was one of my favorite buddies for a long time. I had so many outfits for him & would dress him up & take him everywhere. I loved him so much, that I kept him for my someday child….
That someday child loves Snoopy too! Although Snoopy doesn’t have his extensive wardrobe anymore (what did I do with all of those clothes?) Sayer loves him all the same. He knows that his friend is “fragile” and needs extra care (he’s been mended a number of times) but still likes to take him to “see the world” as he puts it. We took Snoopy to the grocery store a few days ago & Sayer pushed him in the cart & chatted with him the whole time. It’s been pretty darn heart warming to watch his affection for my sweet, childhood buddy grow. They even dance together! As a fan of the Velveteen Rabbit, I can only imagine how happy Snoopy is right now.
Side note: The klt:works dog on the pictured tee is now considered Snoopy’s brother.
{Music Monday} easy breezy summertime…
It was actually a bit on the hot side here this weekend. Saturday was not the kind of day to be sewing wool plush in the attic studio of an old house. So Sayer & I headed out for a beach break to enjoy the small breeze, saltwater air, and sand, & seaweed between our toes. It was a really one of my favorite kinds of days.
It wouldn’t be Music Monday unless I shared an appropriate soundtrack for this summer feeling. You may remember the Zee Avi post I did last month – well you can check out her new album stream here – it all feels like summer to me. Have a listen & see what you think. Zee Avi’s Ghostbird, will be released this Tuesday. This first video from the album seems like a nice way to start the week. Sort of hard to not get up & dance, isn’t it? Happy Music Monday!

{Fun} the roller coaster…
Friday night was a big night. The three of us headed to the local fair to meet up with some friends. Last year we went too (met the same friends even) & had so much fun- so Sayer was really looking forward to it. I have to admit, it had been a strange day & I was really grumpy on our way there. However, all it took was for me to see how excited Sayer was once we walked through the gates & saw all of the rides. I was able to shake off the grumps pretty fast. This year, Sayer was tall enough to ride on rides that we were too tall to ride on. The little dude was ready to fly solo on the dragon roller coaster. He rode it a total of four times- each time he was in a different section- & each time his laughter & smile was infectious. The third time, he got to share his section with a little boy…
This roller coaster ride was a big deal. Sayer no longer wanted to ride on any rides with us after that. He had an extra spring in his step & was quite proud of himself. He exuded confidence. The next morning he told me that he had dreamed of the dragon roller coaster. I had dreamed about how happy he had been. It was a good night. Our little guy is sure growing up…

{The Measure} Twelfth Night collection …
I love what I do- plain & simple. I have met the most interesting & talented people through klt:works. Case in point, look at these wonderful photos by Bellini Portraits! Kristin Fluhr, the Boston based clothing designer & creator of The Measure, contacted me a little while ago about an idea that she had. Well, I love the opportunity to collaborate with like minded artists & designers (particularly ones with great names like Kristin) so I jumped. Kristin’s Twelfth Night Collection for The Measure was just photographed by Bellini Portraits and will be available for purchase next Tuesday. I’m so thrilled have my tees be a part of these awesome outfits! They will also be available for purchase as part of the whole ensemble. This little model is just adorable too- can you imagine she & Sayer playing in their Squirrel & Kitty tees together? This is just a taste of the Twelfth Night Collection. Visit the Measure & Bellini Portraits FB pages to see more updates & sneak peeks. Thanks Kristin & Stephanie – these photos just made my week! Can’t wait to see more of the collection!

{Music Monday} feels like summer….
It finally feels like summer. The sprinkler was on, backyard giggles were heard & afternoon picnics of popsicles in Sayer’s clubhouse were enjoyed. Sunday was nice. The new Zee Avi song, Swell Window, seems to fit my mood (& these pictures) – look forward to hearing her new album in August. Happy Music Monday! How was your weekend?

{Photos} hanging out in kiddo’s room…
We’ve been hanging out in Sayer’s room a lot lately. I love to watch him play & tend to reach for the camera when he isn’t looking. It seems like his room is always changing to respond to how fast he’s growing & changing. I’ve got an ongoing documentation of the morphing of his space on flickr & added a bunch of new pictures this weekend. We’ve replaced a table & chairs with a vintage school desk & chair (from a local salvage yard)- the table is now in the living room. We have some new prints that Sayer helped pick out (by Blanca Gomez & Jayme McGown) & some new vintage finds- a Fisher Price school house & village (including a post office & fire station) – both from the late 60’s early 70’s. Well, I’m excited to say that my snapping of the camera & obsessive room documentation was was shared on Ohdeedoh yesterday! I guess it’s a good thing that we’ve had so many inside/rainy play days lately because I was ready to pass on new photos when asked.
Thanks to Sarah Rae Trover for writing a such a sweet post & to the kind people that left comments. You can view the rest of the room tour here. Wow, this week is shaping up quite nicely! How is your week going?
