{Fabric Friday} KLT:fabric bundles & giveaway…

Those of you that have been following my Fabric Fridays for the last year, won’t be surprised to learn that my fabric stash is taking over my studio right now. Boy do I love fabric & I have piles dating back to the late 1990’s. The lightbulb finally went off after numerous inquires from customers about buying my fabric to match their klt:mobiles & plush. Part of my new year resolution was to simply & pare down. So, in the spirit of making more space in my studio, I’m now creating & selling fabric bundles from my  klt:fabric stash in my Etsy Shop.

As I was frantically going through my fabric, cutting & bundling, I came up with a fun idea (I think)- a Fabric Friday Giveaway! I thought I would put together some fabric remnants in this KLT owl tote as my giveaway prize. I figured that those of you that are crafty & creative would need an extra tote. So, I will gradually add fabric to this tote over the next week – and announce a winner next Fabric Friday. Sound fun?

I made 3 resolutions this year. #1 Be more thoughtful. #2 Use up stash. #3 Find more creative bloggy friends. So, I declared it the year of the tote bag and have been making tote bags to send to family & friends hoping to make up for years of workaholic lapses of manners and sociability. I'd love a tote bag for myself, and I'd love some fresh supplies to blend with my stash. Your blog is wonderful and I'm here thanks to a poet writer friend. Thank you!

Oooh, what an exciting giveaway! I love the owl image. Kalina loves her owl shirt and has been wearing it for almost two years now. We would match. The remnants could help me with some much needed sewing inspiration. I love the vibrant colors and patterns that you play with.

What would I do with one of your tote bags with some of your beautiful fabric stash?

Well, I'd throw it all up in the air and skip around giddily as it all fell about me … then I'd scoop it all up, whisper sweet things to each piece and then start sewing a 1/2 Moomin-stash, 1/2 KLT-stash quilt for Ausralia's youngest Emo who refuses to have vintage floral sheet squares on the quilt she's demanding I make her.

    Fin. (Great giveaway btw).

I'd enjoy looking at each & every piece, and probably make a postage stamp quilt. 🙂

I'm at the beginning of my sewing aspirations, and finding fabric is such an inspiring part of maaking something. Sometimes I think the fabric knows what it wants to be. I'd like to make quilts and tote bags and tea towels and oven mitts. Maybe some pillows and plushies for the kids too.

Thanks for your site, you are an inspiration.

These are great ideas! I would carry the tote (among other places) to my favorite farmer's market and then hoard all the pieces of fabric…I am sure they would inspire me to eventually do more than that, but let's be honest here – I'd hoard them to begin with.

I would hoard the fabric for our move to South America. 😉 I hear that there are no fabric stores (and none with such cute stuff as yours!) and I am planning on taking as much as possible with me to last me the 18 months of our tour there. Ha!

And I like ya on fB and follow you on Twitter and follow you in my RSS feed!

How funny I found this, I just got off the phone after booking my first sewing class. I got a machine for Vday and can't wait to learn to learn to use it. I think this would be great for patchwork skirts, patchwork pillows or baby things. mere@jklobo.com
